Since Mother’s Day is almost here, I put together a (not so little) wish list of things a crunchy mama would really appreciate. Hopefully my husband will see this and use it wisely (I’m kidding… just a little). So, let’s get started… here is the Mother’s Day Mega List for Crunchy Moms….
Quality Water Filter
Having quality drinking water for your family is a must. This Berkely Water Filter is a great portable alternative to using big jugs and wasting plastic on water bottles. They also filter out much more than an inexpensive one purchased from a supermarket. Plus, your kids can get their own drinks easily. Win win!
Bee’s Wrap is a creative alternative to plastic food bags, and it is all natural! Made with cloth and bees wax, this is something unique and useful that any crunchy mama would love.
A Nice Card
Nothing compares to a homemade card, but this Etsy Shop makes cards from 100% recycled paper. And I’m pretty sure I laughed out loud when reading some of them.
A Good Blender
It’s always nice to have a good blender. Owning a Vitamix has always been a far off dream of mine, but since this was the MEGA list, I threw it in here.
Stainless Steel Water Bottle
These Earthlust water bottles are made of unlined, recycled food grade stainless steel, and come in multiple styles and sizes.
Even if you aren’t really into art, these prints from Katie Daisy on her Etsy Shop are beyond gorgeous for any mama wanting to brighten up a space.
Reusable Shopping Bags
I thought these reusable shopping bags were handy, and since they are justplain canvas, the kids can spiff them up and make them one-of-a-kind with fabric paint creations!
A Soft Structured Carrier or Wrap
Please excuse my daughter giving you the stink eye! It is the only picture we have with our beloved boba 3G. I purchased it used from a babywearing group on Facebook, and we still use it even though she is almost three! I love that thing, and we even took a mini backpacking trip to Chicago last year, and I carried her in the Boba most of the time. I’ve always wanted to try to carry my babies in a gorgeous woven wrap as well, but never took the plunge. Sometimes carriers and wraps can be expensive to purchase new, but if you join a group like this one here you can easily get a gently used one at a really affordable price. These things make a mama’s life so much easier, believe me!
For the Gardening Mama
Moonlight Micro Farms has an abundance of heirloom organic, non GMO seeds available on their shop. I have purchased from this small company for a couple of years now and have no complaints! Love them!
All of these gifts would be great for just about any crunchy, or naturally minded mama, but I think we can all agree that nothing compares to a homemade card or gift that we can save and cherish! Half-wilted dandelions picked from the front yard and handed to me by a little grinning kiddo will always be one of my favorites.
But really… just getting to be a mom is the best gift of all.
*Disclaimer: I will receive a small amount of compensation if you choose to purchase from several of the links posted on this blog, with no additional charges to you. This in turn helps to support our family so that I am able to stay home with our children.
